“Nati per Leggere” Awarded Gold Medal

The event was organized by Associazione Culturale Pediatri (Pediatric Cultural Association), Associazione Italiana Biblioteche (Italian Library Association) e dal CSB-Centro per la Salute del Bambino (Child Health Center), Centro per il libro e la lettura of MiBAC (The Book and Reading Centre of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Affairs) and The Department of Letters of Sapienza Università di Roma  http://bit.ly/convegno “Nati per Leggere” (Born to Read) is a free program available across Italian regions. It offers families with children up to the age of 6 a number of reading activities that are fundamental for cognitive development in children and to help parents grow alongside their children. The program activities are carried out thanks to financial contribution from Centro per il Libro e la Lettura (Center for Books and Reading), Regions, Provinces and Municipalities that are part of the program, and the collaboration of childcare professionals and volonteers.

Trieste was at the forefront with CSB-Centro per la Salute del Bambino (The Child Health Centre), Pier Antonio Quarantotti Gambini Public Library, Stelio Mattioni Public Library, Sistema Bibliotecario Giuliano library network, the reading points of Biblioteca Diffusa, partners of #PattodiTriesteperlaLettura (Trieste Pact for Literature) and the widespread participation of numerous book ambassadors who have helped with the project since its outset and along the 20 years being celebrated as its anniversary across Italy. A LeggiAMO 0-18 Project celebration will be held in Trieste on October 25th. Families, children and youngsters are all invited. Centro per la salute del bambino (The Child Health Centre) supports Trieste’s membership application as UNESCO Creative City for Literature.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
