Saba enjoyed reading his compositions in person and left us a substantial number of voice recordings of prose and verse. The poems from the collection Uccelli (“Birds”), recorded at the RAI headquarters in Trieste on 15th August 1952, were edited for this edition by Carlo Levi, his daughter Linuccia’s husband
